Outlook takes long time to launch

I am using Outlook 97 installed on Windows NT. All profiles are configured properly and connection to the server is OK. It takes appr. 5 minutes to start. If you have any solution please let me know.

I would turn all of the services off. (Remove them). Then add each back in, one by one. See which one is causing the time lapse.

Check the binding order in the registry. Look at

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q136/5/16.ASP

for more info. If you find the protocol that connects the fastest, put it at the beginning of the binding order. Or just remove all others but the fastest. Worked for me.

do you have a hosts file in the c:\winnt folder

it will need the ip address and the name of the exhange server seperated with a tab in the form.
