Hi,
I keep getting these perverted porn e-mails and have been for a couple of years. I don't want to shut down my address and get a new. I have my filters on in Outlook express and have set a million rules, however something always seems to get through. At least one or two a day.

Is there a way that you can incorporate a wildcard signal that the filter will pick up? For instance V*a for viagra. Would that delete anything that started with a V and ended in an a.

They keep mispelling the words and there's just no way to filter them all.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Chris

Have you tried Spamihilator ?

To minimize the risk of getting more spam, I use the fabulous mailinator concept when I 'need' to leave/subit my e-mail address on a Website to request information.
It works like a charm, and is the second best Windows tip I ever received.

And for a really good peace of (Monty Python stylish) humour, just read the FAQ.
It took me 4 hours to get the smile off my face ;-D.

You might check with your ISP. Many have programs that can be turned on for your account to filter email before it even arrives in your inbox. There is usually no charge for this filtering.

There are quite a few freeware email spam filters, many very good products. See, for example,

Unfortunately, you cannot apply boolean filters on a single word or substrings of a single word natively in OE. (And you would block Virginia).

The closest would be to block any message where "V" and "gr" and "a" (or something similar) appeared in the subject line or message body. I think using a anti-spam add-in makes sense as an addition to whatever top level support your ISP can offer.

Also check forum605. There are several discussion about OE and the way that mail rules work.
