Recently, everyone in my company started having difficulty opening their e-mail. After clicking the Outlook icon, the splash screen comes up and stays up for about 3-4 minutes, before the inbox opens. Once the inbox opens there is another 30 sec to 1 minute lag before the user can begin using their e-mail. Once this entire process has occurred, the e-mail works just fine--until it is completely closed down. If it's closed and then re-opened, the system needs to go through the entire process again.

Only one person's computer is not having difficulty. The only difference we can find is that PC Anywhere is loaded on her computer; though we aren't sure why this would make a difference.

Any suggestions? This is the first time this has happened, and it's been going on for about a week now.

Thanks,
Steve

What is the systemresources like on your mailserver?
When was the last time you gave your mailsystem a proper gracefull shutdown?
Also check your memory usage on the mailserver.
Another thing to look at is if any other network application is slow to open i.e. mapped drives and documents.

Hope this will help

Have you introduced any new protocols to your network lately? Make sure TCP/IP is at the top of the binding order for all your clients, this improves performance when opening outlook.
