Hello all, I have one user who creates a basic text signature (name, address, etc.)in Outlook 2003. Periodically (every couple of months or so) the signature disappears. At that point she re-creates it and all is fine for a while. I know this isn't a production stopping issue, but it is an annoyance. No terminal services, no new servers added, and profile is local.XPSP3 - updates applied, Office03 - updates applied. Any suggestions appreciated.

When you're standing on the edge of a cliff, a step forward is not progress.

Well, there are actually a couple of different ways to create a signature in Outlook. A directly Outlook-based signature, and a Word-based signature. For the Word-Based signature, you have to have Word set as the email editor, and if you at any time disable Word as the email editor, you'll suddenly not get your signature if you turn off Word as the editor. If you do the plain Outlook type, and then after a while, change to Word as your email editor, then you'll no longer get the Outlook signatures. Of course, in either of those situations, I don't think the signature totally disappears.

Here's another thought, and this one I'm not sure about. I wonder if a temp files cleaner type of application is used on that system, whether it could inadvertently pick up the file containing the signature(s), and remove it, then that would obviously cause such an issue. Though I can't say I've seen this before.
