I have a problem with users who have had corrupt pst files in the past and so we've had to import in their Personal Folders from an old version. They can receive and send email just fine, but clicking on any of the icons in the Outlook shortcut bar gives them an error message and they cannot use many of the address book shortcuts when composing messages.

This is on Outlook 97 and we are not yet on Exchange- internet email only. Is there any way of relinking those shortcuts to the personal folders?

Thanks!

Kethry

What you want to do is delete the existing shortcuts in the Outlook bar, then display the folder list and just drag the folders back to the Outlook bar to create new shortcuts. The current shortcuts probably refer to the original file. I don't get what you mean by "address book shortcuts", though. Rick Sprague

Oh, I just meant being able to click on your To: field when composing a message and having it go directly into your contacts folder. Sorry, I was using "babble speak" there to try to describe it.

How do you delete the old link that used to exist when you clicked on the Contact icon in the Outlook Shortcuts?

Right click on the Contact icon and select Remove from Outlook Bar. (I'm at home now, and using Outlook 2000, but I think Outlook 97 had the same context menu.) Rick Sprague
