Outlook session remains on the Desktop

I had account a problem on Outlook application. When I close my Outlook application, the Outlook session had remain on the Desktop, actually all the items content had been closed. When I click this session again,it couldn't be opend. I have checked the windows task manager, it was still running but I don't know the reason why?

Please help.
