Hi,

My boss would like to start using email as the primary medium for sending out newsletters to save costs on envelopes/printing etc etc

There will be approx 100 clients to send the mail to.

Creating the distribution group is not a problem, but we don't want every recipient to see every other recipients email address in the To: field.

Can this be done in outlook or does it require some other form of mail management software?

Thanks :)

I had thought of that but thought it wouldn't work?

Better give it a shot,

thanks :)

To give a better appearance, create an additional entry in your address book that describes your list - something like 'xyz newsletter' and use your real e-mail address (or some real address that's appropriate).

When you send the message, your Distribution List goes into the BCC: field and the 'xyz newsletter' goes into the TO: field. This serves 2 purposes: The first is that most of your recipients will see a message to 'xyz newsletter' instead of 'undisclosed recipients' (this behavior is dependant on the mail client). The second reason to do this is that you now receive a copy exacltly the same as your other recipients. You can check it with any web based interface or different mail clients to verify formatting & such.

By the way, there are several mailing list programs available, but for 100 recipients they might not be worth the hassle.

Thanks for the tips!
