Hiya,

I have a user who when he's sending an email the end user receives it in Times New Roman. Using Outlook 2003 with Exchange 2003 and sending using HTML format.

Why is this happening if:

- Not using MS Word to write emails
- Word normal.dot is using Arial
- Outlook fonts are all set to Arial
- I have re-created his Outlook profile, still no good.
- deleted HKCU Oulook settings and re-created. Leeds me to beleve it a computer issue, not user issue.
- The send email in his sent folder is still in Arial.

So why are users receiving the email in Times New Roman. Is their something I'm missing?

Please help, I'm scratching my head and developing a bold spot...I don't have enough hair to keep this up much longer.

Cheers,
Johan

Do the users that are receiving the email in Times New Roman have their email client set to read their email in plain text?

Cheers.

Nope, their are no enforced restrictions. Not to mention, that the emails aren't been recieved as plain text, but Times New Roman?!?

It doesn't have to be an enforced restriction. The user can set their own preferences. In OL2K3 its under Tools ->options and then click on Email Options... on the Preferences Tab. Under Email Handling there is an option to Read all standard mail in plain text.

Plain text can use any type of font. Most Outlook plain text that I've come across is set to use Courier New by default but I've seen it set to other fonts too.

Cheers.

Alas I wish it was that simple. All the settings are set to default.

If the email is showing in the sending user's Sent Items as Arial then the problem must be at the receiver's end. Was it the receiver's settings that you checked?

Cheers.

The receiver gets all other emails as Rich Text, HTML or Plain Text...no setting is in place. It's not happening on one computer but all, including clients outside of our network.

As I've tried created a whole new Windows profile, the only thing I can think of is it's a machine setting, but which one?

Alas that didn't work, all the font settings in Outlook and Word are set to Arial.

Hmmmm, where to go from here?!?
