I have four accounts set up in Outlook. Three of them are accounts on the same mail server while the fourth is on a different mail server. The fourth account and one of the others work fine. The other two are the ones I'm having a problem with. When I do a send/receive for all accounts they give an error saying their send/receive was interrupted. When I send/receive just one of those accounts at a time it works fine.

Check that the isp that has the mail server is not down/having probs? I'm guessing that normally yr fine?

Yeah, the mail server's fine. Everyone in the office uses this mail server for their normal e-mail. And like I said, this one person who's having the problem has three separate e-mail addy's on the mail server, two of which are having the problem and the third is fine. I'm able to telnet into the pop server and log in with the username/passwords of those two accounts and list the messages fine. I can also go the the user's machine and successfully send/receive for either of the accounts if I its the only one sending/receiving. The problem occurs when we try to do a send/receive for all accounts.

Sometimes Outlook has issues with sending and receiving mail and often reinstalling the Outlook software helps. Are you using anti-virus software to scan incoming and outgoing emails? If so try and disable the email scan and see if you still have the same problem, if it works fine with email scanning off then you should reinstall the anti-virus software and usually that fixes the problem. If you are able to telnet into the server then we know the mail server is not the problem, so the only other thing I can think of that may help is removing the email account from Outlook and recreate it in Outlook. I hope this helps, Good Luck

Thanks for the tips. I do have A/V software that scans e-mail. I'll try bypassing that and see if it changes anything.

I tried bypassing the antivirus and still can't get this to work. :(

I wanted to bump this back up because I found out our user is still having this problem. However, it seems she's now not able to check these accounts at all if they go through our antivirus. I did get it to download the e-mail from these accounts if I don't run it through the antivirus and send/receive each account individually.

I also tried adding one of these accounts to my Outlook and again it fails to get e-mail when doing a send/receive for all accounts. It would however work through the antivirus software when I did a send/receive for one account at a time.

I can't figure out if this is a problem with our e-mail server, Outlook, or some strange network issue. Our e-mail provider of course claims its not them, even though we have intermittent problems with e-mail on almost a daily basis.

Thanks for the reply but the problem is that I get a send/receive error for two accounts when I do a send/recieve for all accounts. I've even tried this on another computer and same thing happens. Both use Outlook 2002, one computer is XP, the other is 2k pro.
