This one is really confusing me. When I am at home and connected to my network, Outlook 2003 works just fine. When I am at work or anywhere else I can receive emails from all of my accounts but I can not send emails from my POP3 account. I doesn't make sense. Works fine at home but no where else.

It is said that God will give you no more than you can handle. I just wish God didn't have so much faith in me.

Does the SMTP server allow remote connections or connections from other IP ranges? What is the error when you try to send? This sounds like a normal antispam technique that some ISP's use.

Sorry, I should have put the error message in the original question.

Task 'pop3.mail.wowway.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Unable to send the message. Please verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 550 5.0.0 Access denied'

Access denied
means access denied. Is your e-mail address correct? Is everything set according to the FAQ's at
You'll have to ask them if you can acces the smtp server when you're outside their network - my guess is that you can't. As mentioned above, this a common anti-spam technique. I don't know for sure if wowway does this (it wouldn't surprise me), but you'll need to ask them to be sure.

does your pop server allow smtp relay?
can you connect to your incoming pop server?
similar situation to yours
when i am on the road i have to use my webmail to receive but use outlook to send because my outgoing pop server (verizon) does not allow relaying.

I can see where being at work you wouldn't be allowed to send. Any spam aware company would block outbound SMTP to only come from the company email servers.
