Outlook Searching For Hyperlinks

I just noticed last night that my Outlook with Office 97 searches for hyperlinks in all my messages everytime I go into my inbox. I can not stop the search and it impacts my system performance. Is this normal? I have never seen this before and support several windows systems and unix systems.

I am also running Norton anti virus with a /1/22/01 definition pack.

Any Ideas on what this might be and how to stop it?
