Outlook scrolling message

Hi all, i am a new user and have tracked you down in the hope that you may be able to prevent me pulling any more hair out with a frustratingly annoying little problem.

I am using Outlook Express 6 and it constantly has a scrolling messagejust below the create/reply/fwd icons etc that says "FINALIZING INSTALLATION".

This also appears above the 'from' line on any new emails I send too.

I have searched the net high and low and googled it for hours on end and done all the regular clean ups/checking conflicts/de-frags etc.

Can any of you nice people PLEASE tell me how to get rid of this 'eye-catching' annoyance.

If I am allowed to here, then I will post a screen shot of it, but hopefully won't need to.

Hope someone can help.

This sounds like it could potentially by a virus or spyware infection. The only other things that I can think of are some third party OE add-on like a spam filtering tool or something that inserts smilies into your messages.

have you tried running adaware?
