Hello there,
Hopefully this is an easy question. I have setup Rules Wizard to auto-forward all mail (where my name is in the To or CC). It works when I forward to an "internal" Exchange Recipient, but nothing happens when I forward to external mail account e.g yahoo. Any ideas or help appreciated.
Ta, Pat

When setrting this rule up, you specify the address in the people or distribution list properties. So if you have the rule set to forward all incoming mail which has your name in the "to or cc" field, you must include the internet mail account your speaking of as well.

Hope I have understood the question :)

create a custom recipient and this should work fine. I had the same problem, and just made a custom recipient pointing to my yahoo account and it works.

Using Exchanger Server Admin. I have recently created a Global Distribution list for notifying the telco management and network admins using text pagers. I created custom recipients, using SMTP, and then hid them from the Address Book. It works fine.

I have the same problem, and a Custom Recipient won't work for me, at least I don't think it will.
My users are members of management, and want all e-mails sent to their Skytel devices when they leave their office for meetings, lunch etc. They want control over turning it on and off.
Any suggestions?
By the way, so far, I created a Contact in Outlook with their outside (Internet) e-mail address, and created a rule in Rules Wizard, just as Croi-de-Vie did at the top of this posting. I can't get it to any outside addresses. If it ain't broken, play with it till it breaks.

Here's what you need to do:

Open up the IMS Properties page.
Click on the Internet Mail Tab.
Click on Advanced Options.
Uncheck the "Disable Automatic Replies to the Internet."

Warning - This is considered a security risk. This was disabled by default in Exchange 5.5 SP3.

We are forwarding emails to an account created called "Administrator" to different vendors/customers email addresses. Is there a work-around for 5.5 when you don't enable automatic replies to the internet? For some reason, some of the users setup can receive them, but more cannot.
