In order that users do not have to see some of the less pleasant emails that arrive we have rules set on our Public Folders to move all mail that comes in marked as spam to a separate folder.

Unfortunately something is triggered on a fairly regular basis that turns this rule off. This happens at different intervals, on different folders but never on all the folders at one time.

To 'cure' the problem we simply go into the properties of the folder and open the folder assistant on the properties tab to reset the rule.

Has anyone any suggestions as to what might cause this ? We are running Outlook 2000 and Exchange 2000
