MM 5.2.1 Single Server with latest and greatest.....when trying to playback a message to a handset i get the folling error:
outbound call aborted due to divert to voicemail modular messaging

anyone know what this might be from?

Was outcalling tested on your system?

That's a generic error. First make sure your MM client can communicate with the MAS by going into subscriber options. If that doesn't work, troubleshoot that first. Then go into the MAS go into caller app editor and change your multimedia settings to use the telephone (just like the MM client) to the specified extension. Create a new test caller app. Go into the caller app like you were going to record a prompt and hit the record button and see if it outcalls successfully. If it does not then troubleshoot that. If your system is using SIP to SES/SM and has SP3 or later on it then you probably need to configure the P-Asserted-Identity feature.

outcalling works from MM caller ap to a phone...where does the P-aserted file get modified? in MM or SES or CM? thanks.

In MM in the VMSC and in the registry. Check the readme file that comes with SP3 for more details about where to put it in.

But if outcalls work from a MM caller app, then the P-Asserted-Identity shouldn't be your issue.

Did the client connect successfully when you went into subscriber options?

the client connects fine and i can play stuff thought the PC, it just wont play though the phone.

playing stuff through the PC does not mean the client can communicate with the MAS correctly. If you can get into subscriber options just fine then that means it can using DCOM.

I think you'll need to open a ticket with your MM maintenance provider.
