I am using two accounts on outlook.

lets say account abc@outlook.com and efg@outlook.com

I get an email from a sender, sent to my abc account but when I reply I want it going through my efg when account when I reply. I know how to do it manually but is there a way to do it automatically; meaning when I click reply, I want it set to the efg account address.

much help appreciated.

Depends how your mail accounts are setup in Outlook, if you have the messages going to different PST and your accounts are listed down the "Shorcut bar" being in that account before replying or sending will "send" from that account.

You can also set the 'efg' account as default (Account settings ... Set as default) account for sending/replying.

Thanks for replying. I have two accounts in outlook. abc account is exchange and efg account is pop3 (different mail providers).

the messages are going into the exchange folder when they come in. I don't want to "set as default" for reply, but I want to pick and choose the reply.

example, if a message comes in from bob@radio.com from my exchange account, manually I can choose to send a reply from either exchange or pop3 from the 'send account' button.
I want to click on bob, read the message then when I hit reply, I want the reply account to automatically "just for that person bob" to go to the pop3 account instead of the exchange account. everyone else goto through exchange.

A reply to a message will "send" from the account that it was sent to regardless of what the default account is.
That's how it works for me and I have eight accounts set up in Outlook.

Starting a new message will send from the default account unless you use the "from" account selector to change it.

hi chris.

that's useful information. it will send to the account that it was sent to; but how do I modify the settings for some of the names on my contact list for the accounts?

This is where it can get a little convoluted to say the least!!

You can't directly change which account will be used for a contact. However the "Suggested Contacts" list in each account will determine which account will be used as the default "sending" account when creating an email to a contact.

So if you create an "Outlook Address Book" from each of the contacts list you should, though I've never actually tested this, be able to choose multiple recipients and have each message go out from the appropriate account.
