We have implemented roaming profiles on our LAN, and store each user's Outlook PST files in shared folders on the server. This is fine for desktop workstations, but we have outworkers with portables who want to take them home, write emails and then synchronise their office-based PST files.
Of course, when the portable users start Outlook up at home, it wants the PST files that are sitting on the LAN. The upshot is that the users can't do what they want to do and we all know zis ees not gut enough.
MS Exchange is not an option .... I know it can probably do what we want, but has anyone heard of a software product similar to the off-line e-mailer and HotSync product that comes with the Palm Pilot handheld, but for Intel based portables ?? - This would be ideal.
Any ideas, anyone ?? Jim Worley
