I have a user who's mailbox is pretty big 3500+ emails in his INBOX. Recently he has been having problems whe trying to recieve email. Intermittantly outlook will crash. When he reopens outlook all of his folders are empty. Only after rebooting do the emails reappear. Any Suggestions? I have tried slimming his inbox down to 700 or so emails but still the problem occurs.

Have you created a pst and filtered them down? That is ALOT of emails to be storing. My suggestion is to create several pst files 2 or 3 and filter all the emails down. Also you can set up auto archiving which will delete emails by date incase the user doesn't delete or put email in the pst files. That will help keep the size down. When you reach that kind of email storage on the server there is a very long syncronization process and that is when it usually starts timing out or crashing. Make sure you create the pst files on the C drive or you can run into more problems down the road.

hope that helps.
