Hi everyone,

We recently moved all our company's e-mail from one Exchange server to another with different organisation and site names using Exmerge. Everything was fine until we powered down the old server which has now been formatted! What happens now is that when some people try to access their mail in Outlook it hangs and does not respond. The very strange thing is that this happens only with some clients, not all of them. The rest are fine!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Paul

because some clients services haven't updated to the new server name. For these clients check control panel mail and change the name manually.

Thanks Zelandakh,

Unfortunately your idea didn't help. Does anyone think it might be something to do with powering off the old server? There was a 2 way trust relationship but that's obviously now gone. The strange thing is is that it isn't happening on all machines e.g. some W2K machines' outlook clients work fine and others don't.

Any ideas would be very welcome!

Paul

Hi everyone:
I have a simple Q. Can you setup one NT account with two different mailboxes. we have several users that have two email addresses and I like to set them up without creating a new account for a new mailbox.
Thanks in advance.

Yes you can set up an account with two mailboxes, in the outlook profile, in the properties of Microsoft Exchange Server, on the advanced tab you can specify additional mailboxes to open.

When you set up the mailbox in exchange, make the primary NT account (bottom of the recipient window general tab) the pre-existing account. Marc Creviere

You can also give two e-mail addresses to one mailbox

I have the exact same problem. Fortunatly I have not formated the old server. As long as the old server keeps running all client work fine. Did anyone find a way to resolve this issue.

Thanks

Shawn

Re-stating what I said earlier:

Create new profiles in outlook. Marc Creviere

Unfortunately Marc this doesn't work as I've already tried this.
