I am using Outlook 2002 with Windows XP. My mail is set
up so that when I am in the office I send my email
through an Exchange 5.5 server and receive my mail from a
pop account.

It works fine except when I am in the office and reply to certain emails that came in from my pop account. On these occassions the mail gets bounced back from the Exchange server saying unknown recipient, as if the mail was sent to a non-existent address on the server even though the mail is sent to an external domain. If I send a new mail to this recipient rather than reply there is no problem.

Can anyone help me??

When you reply if you delete the displayed address and then add it back in from your address book does it work or do you get the same error?

If I delete the email address and type it in myself it usually is delivered without any problem. Do you know how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

Look at thread605-573305. I believe the final explanation given by gigahertz is what is happening to you.
