Hi,
I have a user who, when connected through our Cisco VPN client and uses Microsoft Outlook 2003 to connect to the corporate Exchange 2003 system, he gets a login box about every 5 minutes. The Security log on the DC (Windows 2000 Server, separate from the Windows 2003RC2 hosting the Exchange server) shows Event 529 Unknown user name or bad password (shown below). There are sometimes 3-5 of the failed messages, then a success message (Event 538).

Logon Failure:
Reason: Unknown user name or bad password
User Name: Bob Jones
Domain: BOBS_COMP
Logon Type: 3
Logon Process: NtLmSsp
Authentication Package: NTLM
Workstation Name: BOBS_COMP

Any ideas out there?

Thanks!
Mike

Throw away you Cisco VPN and use RPC over HTTPs. Much better and easier for the user.
