I have a user who converted his Outlook 2000 mailbox from another company into a OST file format. Now when I try taking that file and imopreting the OST format into Outlook 2000, it states the file format "MUST" be in a PST format.

(did I lose anyone??? hehehe)

Is there a way I can either get by this, and or do this?

If you can please send me ANY information I would greatly appeciate it!!!
thanks!

an ost is Outlook's Offline Folder file. This is the file where your offline folders are synchronized to.
I am not aware of any way to import an ost. You may want to check with microsoft to see if they have any more information on it.

Why don't you open his Outlook, go to Tools-Synchronize, and let it create offline folders in a location that you should write down. This creates OST files. GET OFF LINE.

Then replace the new OST files created on the new PC with the old OST files. I would even change the name of the old OST files, if necessary.

Once you can view these folders in Outlook (they look exactly like your online folders -- not including content in this case, you should be able to File-Export as PSTs.
