Is anyone else leary about rolling out Outlook to Citrix users from a virus standpoint? We got creamed with nimda, despite precautions, and the Citrix server was the hardest hit. I have since not implemented any email clients, to the chagrine of users, but wonder with many upgrades to virus products/IIS lockdown, etc. whether it is safe to re-enable email. Thanks.

Are you using exchange server ? if not, why not ?
(only jokin'):)
If you are, the easiest option is to cover the server, and if you have the disk space, don't run PST files on the clients...if not, then the AV protection on the citrix server should be able to do the job...

but whatever the setup, you should be able to filter out viruses before they reach the clients :)

Yeah, totally safe to roll out given you have the time and resources to install protection AND keep it up to date. I have personally limited the complexity of several installs using a combination of Exchange Server/Symantec AV/Outlook and been relatively successful (read that lucky) with zero hits on the worm front.
You may want to consider draconian pro-active options like not allowing users to downing some types of attachments...or in fact, any attachments at all...it will depend on the culture of your users...but if you are truely serious about security and need a watertight solution, you probably wouldn't be implementing M$ solutions right?! :)
