I work with someone who has Microsoft Outlook and through his Outlook he's pulling in emails off of our work exchange server. His outlook is not showing the emails that he has received in his inbox. I've sent him test messages, but they aren't showing up in his inbox. When he deletes them in through webmail though, they show in his deleted items in his outlook. When I hit send/receive, everything acts normal and I get no errors. He can send emails from his outlook and they show in sent items and they go through. Is there a setting that may have been altered? Any suggestions?

Check his filters untder View > Current View to see if he is only showing certain emails.

I'm trying to solve the same problem with one of my users. Everybody else in the office can access the email fine except for this one user. The user can download the sometimes, its very inconsistent no regular pattern. The user can access the email fine through web based outlook. Have checked the filters, all the settings seem fine.
What i've tried so far:

Checked and compared settings of outlook with others users - all fine
Checked and compared setting on the server - all fine
Scanned with antivirus and anti spyware progs
Checked logs on computer - nothing
not sure what else to do.
Please help.

try creating a new user on the computer with the problem and see if that user can get their emails. If so you might have to recreate the users profile. (move the documents first!)

If the computer has WinXP SP2 installed, make sure the XP firewall is turned off. If this makes you uncomfortable, add an exception in the XP firewall for Outlook.
