Hi All,
Have the following situation. Hope someone can help.
I have a friend who has a small network where we have 3 computers connected to a hub. The computers have Windows98 and office2000, outlook2000. The way these computers are setup they share netfolders by doing the following process from outlook:
(1) File==>Share==>This folder
(2) The email users can then be added from the other
computers.
(3) You should then be able to go into
==>Tools==>Address Book
to bring up the address list.
* Problem is when she tries to bring this up she gets a message, "Address list could not be displayed"
(Here is some more notes)
(A) They are connected to outlook via:
(1) Internet Mail
(2) Outlook Address Book
(3) Personal folders
Summary of the 3 computers
--------------------------
(1) Computer1 - Works fine
(2) Computer 2 - Works fine
(3) Computer 3 (Problem - here is what started the problem)
* This PC was working fine. She decided to upgrade to
OfficeXP. After she upgraded to Office XP she realized
the outlook portion did not have the "Netfolders Opton"
* So she deinstalled OfficeXP, reinstalled office2000.
Now when she attempts to click on "Tools==>Address Book"
it displays "Address list could not be displayed"
*Also, when she goes into File==>New Mail Message
She does not see anyone in the address list for
email recipients.
* The only thing I can think of is that she did not deinstall officeXP completely and there are traces of this program still in the registry that may be causing some conflicts and causing outlook to act like this?
* I had her check the Internet mail settings on Computer1 and Computer2 and everything looks setup properly.
* They can send/receive email. It just seems a problem with the address book and also to be able to share with netfolders.
I hope when people see this post I did not make this confusing and I don't get a response. Any response is appreciated. Has anyone run into this problem or know of any knowledgenet articles related to this problem?
Thanks in advance.
