Has anyone had this happen....

When open up an email in outlook, the menu is floating and almost off the screen. It happens on every email. When you open outlook itself, everything is fine, but when you open an email the menu bar pops off. Its getting really annoying to my boss.

Open a message.
Hit Tools-Customize, choose the Toolbar tab.
Select the toolbar that's being "bad" (don't uncheck it, just highlight it). Hit the reset button.

What are you using as your email editor Outlook or Word. If you are using outlook, try the above first. If that doesn't work, try closing outlook, click Start->Run and type outlook.exe /regserver to re-register outlook. Finally if that doesn't fix it locate and rename the file outcmd.dat, this file contains the information for the toolbars. You must close outlook before doing this and reopen after, it will create a new file with the default settings.

If you are using word as your email editor, first try renaming the normal.dot file. Once again close OL and word before and open word after before openning OL. If that doesn't work, locate and rename the file email.dot, this time you'll have to create a new blank document and save it as a template with the name email.dot in the same location as the original. Good luck

Actually, when using Word as the email editor, Outlook uses a template called email.dot, not normal.dot

Just an FYI

If you check the documentation, OL uses both the normal.dot and the email.dot for different aspects of the message.
