outlook mail extraction using vb

hey all,
We are currently moving from exchange to pop3 mail but are having difficulty extracting the data from exchange. Using traditional tools like exmerge dont work, they cannot handle attachments being 'exmerged' to a .pst file.
After giving up on those methods we have turned to trying to write a vb program which could strip the contents of a users outlook file (mails and attachments) and place it into a .pst while keeping the same folder structure. Has anyone attempted anything like this before or know perhaps where to get code to do so. thanks

Just as a follow up, wanted to inform that I got this to work, the problem lay with the anti-virus software not allowing me to extract the mails to the .pst file. To do this you must change a registry entry for background scanning of attachments, stop the anti-virus client and stop the NAV Exchange client also. It will then work
