Hi there,

I have Exchange 2000 and Outlook XP installed on one of the workstations and it is a part of the domain. Recently, outlook's been asking my user for user name and password while the user is log on to the network. I don’t recall making any changes or seeing this problem in the past. I’ve removed and re-added the workstation to the domain removed and re-added the account and uninstall and reinstalled outlook…the problem is still there. However, if my user closes outlook and reopens it again sometimes it asks for log in information and sometimes it does not.

Any suggestion and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Henry

When I have seen this in the past (a handful of times) it has *always* been down to a changed account password.

For example, my boss was logged in to his PC, I changed his password in the Active Directory, when he tried to open outlook, he was then prompted to enter the password.

Perhaps worth a shot, if the user has changed their password lately, try changing it back and see if that helps.

Other than that, I am unsure.

I forgot to try changing the password from the client machine which will force the updated password to all relevant areas (Ctrl + Alt + Del - Change Password (in XP))
