Hello,

We're running Outlook 97 and the guys want to be able to automatically have Outlook seperate incoming mail to different folders. If mail from a certain sender is recieved it is put into a certain folder, not the inbox; all other mail is sent to the inbox.

Is this possible? If so, how would I set this up? I've been looking through the help files, but haven't found much of anything.

Thanks a lot,
Matt

Set up filters...or "Rules" as M$ calls them. It is under the Tools menu in Outlook 2k, I believe that is where it is for 97 also. Please let us (Tek-Tips members) know if the solutions I provide are helpful to you. Not only do my posts help you but they may help others.

Thanks for the response.

We're running Microsoft Mail and Internet E-mail. I understand that Inbox Assistant is required to setup rules. The Outlook help files seem to be saying that Microsoft Exchange Server is required to use Inbox Assistant. Microsoft can't make anything easy.

I don't suppose there is another way?

Have you tried it? Just because the help says one thing, doesn't mean it it right... Otherwise I am not sure as of right now! Please let us (Tek-Tips members) know if the solutions I provide are helpful to you. Not only do my posts help you but they may help others.

You are right, the MS help files can often be misleading, but I don't think that's the case this time.
I personally installed the Inbox Assistant and Out of Office Assistant addin, but they appear as grayed-out on the tools menu.

We've been having a problem with our Microsoft Outlook system and hopefully someone out their can enlighten us. Our company has about 35 employees. We have purchased 50 licences for Micorsoft Outlook. For reason unbeknown to us every so often our employees get a message that states that all licences have are in use, and it will not allow the employees to view their e-mails. We cannot figure what it is that is using up all the licences. In order to remedy the problem we have to shutdown and restart the server. Does anyone have any suggestions or a cure? I would appreciate any help.
