Outlook hangs when adding folder 1

I have a user that has Outlook hand whenever he adds a folder. It is shown in the task manager as not responding and if you end the task and reopen the new folder is there. If you don't end the task and wait for about 10 to 15 minutes it unhangs and the folder is added. He is using Windows 98 SE and Outlook 98.

The equivalent to detect and repair (Outlook 2K) in 98:

Close Outlook.
Hit Start-Run and type:

outlook.exe /regserver

If that doesn't work, you may need to run:

outlook.exe /unregserver

and THEN run the regserver

Also, believe it or not, recreating the profile (when using exchange server) often eliminates problems in Outlook. Anne Troy
