Outlook hangs if not opened first when sending emails from Access 2000

Hi,

This use to work without incident but now is broken. I have an Access 2000 db application that we use to capture incidents/occurrences for internal improvement purposes. I setup the form to allow users to email the report to whomever they would like by pressing a button. When the button is pressed it fills in the Subject and body and allows the user to fill in the rest.

For some reason, IF Outlook is open before pressing the email button, the user can email the report. IF Outlook is not open, Outlook hangs and needs to be terminated before doing anything else.

Does anyone know why this would all of a sudden start?

I thought it was normal behavior. We just leave outlook open & minimized on the desktop.
