Hi all,

I work in an office on Outlook, running on MS Exchange Server. I receive about 9 emails a day I need to forward to an external consultant. I've set up a rule to do this, but it is not sending the emails.

I have dug around and read that Outlook won't auto-forward to external addresses for security reasons.

Is there any way to get around this? I know VBA, but not in Outlook. Could this be a way around it? The emails I need to send all come from the same address to me, with the same subject line.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you have access to the exchange server, you can try creating a mail contact on the server with the external smtp address. Once the contact is shown in the GAL you can change the forwarding rule to the recipient you have just created, that way outlook will see the contact as an authenticated user and will allow the exchange server to forward the message on.

Hi Charlie,

Thanks very much for your reply. I forwarded your idea to our IT Dept and with them have now got this working. They set up a new email address in the GAL and have set this to forward to the external address.

Cheers, Mav3000
