Hi

This is what I would like to do: When Outlook receives and email I would like to check my folders to see if one exists with the same name with the email address from whom the email was recieved. If the folder exists Outlook would move the email to this folder if not it would leave it in my inbox.

I know that I could create individual rules but I don''t really want to if somebody out there things that it would be possible to achieve the above.

It would mean by creating a folder I create the rule.

Has anybody heard of this?

Just to clarify, you are going to create folders for each source of email? That could end up being a heck of a lot of folders!

So, if you get an email from joeblo@somewhere.com, you want to check if therer is a folder named "joeblo@somewhere.com", and if there is, move the message to there.

Or are you talking about an email from joeblo@somewhere.com, and to look for a folder named "somewhere.com".

Thanks for coming back to me. yes you have got it right in the first example.

"So, if you get an email from joeblo@somewhere.com, you want to check if therer is a folder named "joeblo@somewhere.com", and if there is, move the message to there."

and if not leave it in the inbox

Quite a lot of folders but in Outlook 2003 the unread message facility and other things would mean that this would work for me.

I sell chalet holidays I have four chalets for 17 weeks each one having one client so hence 68 folders, which I create anyway. However they only remain current until they have compleeted the holiday then it is archived. So if I created 64 rules I would have delete them when finished which would be a pain - in my opinion.

Thanks
