I am having a problem opening file attachments in Notes and am getting the following error "Word cannot edit the Outlook.FileAttach". Is there a way to open the attachment, or is there something the sender needs to reconfigure?

This is an educated guess, but could prove right.

Make sure that outlook is not the default mail program, in IE got to Tools - Internet Options - Programs and chekc the setting.

Also in the Office installation it's possible to make Word the default mail editor - it's somewhere in the Office set up, possibly under the Word Mail section.
