okay everytime I logon on I always get a pop up" no connection to the internet is currently available. I get two options work offline or try again. I am using cable modem and it works fine. I never got this message before just recently for the past couple of weeks. my mail server is hotmail and it's been really slow !!
any of you guys exprience this??

You could try the IE repair feature.

Go to add/remove progs, then click on the IE entry and select repair. Then try it

Cheers

If that doesn't work, which logon are you talking about, Network at Windows startup, or Internet logon or opening Outlook Express. Is your cable modem always on, or do you have to specifically connect.

As far as slow internet is concerned, believe it or not, the activity of Code Red trojan is creating so much traffic that it is slowing down access, particularly to DNS servers. BTW I assume you have a firewall running with your cable modem?
