I have XP-Home, Outlook-Express V6 and Internet Explorer V6
I have a very annoying problem; can you help.
Starting with the Internet not connected; Internet-Explorer not started...
If I then open Outlook Express, do not connect to Internet, then create an email, and 'Send' it, then when I try to go online to actually send the Email, Outlook Express always hangs up. If I go to task list I can see that Outlook Express is 'not responding'.
I've got a workaround, but it's really annoying.
The only way I can workaround it is by
first telling OE I want to Work Offline; then starting the Internet Connection first; make sure that is running OK; and THEN start Outlook Express.
Then Outlook Express works properly; ie it sends the Email.
I tried looking in various forums and places but cant find anything similar. Nearest was someone with Norton antivir; had to disable Email checking to 'fix'; but not sure if it was same scenario.
I have Network Associates Antivir running; and yes it is set to check email; but I think that is a red herring.
Up to 'a few months ago' I didnt get this problem with OE.
Not sure how or when it started.
I can cope but it's driving my missus crazy.
