Outlook Express There Was an Error opening this message

Win XP Pro SP2
Outlook Express Version 6.

User can receive mail, but as soon as the "create new mail" button is pressed user receives the following error message and cannot proceed any further. "There was an error opening this message. An error has occured"

As far as I am aware virus definition are up-to-date.

Please please help !

I will assume that you have rebooted and still have this problem.

You can use the control panel > add/remove programs > windows components > to reinstall IE and OE as they are linked I would do both. Hopefully this will clear up the error.
