Hi,

We use OE6 for email.
One PC does not start OE automatically when an email link is clicked in Internet Explorer.

On this PC, OE does not show in Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Programs > email. Only option is Outlook which we do not use.
OE does show in the Newsgroup setting.

Tried setting OE as default email client from within OE. Tried a different user - it's still missing. Tried un-install and re-install - still missing.

Any ideas?

Regards

Start, Run, "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg, OK (make sure you include the quotation marks).
Then you should find it in IE's programs.

Hi Smah,

That nearly worked:)
Outlook Express now shows up in Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Programs > email and clicking on a email link in Word starts OE.

However there is one program (Pegasus Opera Accounts) which still starts Outlook instead. Tried on another PC and Pegasus seems to use the settings from IE OK.

Tried reboots and un-setting / setting OE as default.

If you can suggest a fix on this one, I'll find another star:)

David

After digging around their website, they seem to only offer support through their resellers. So I can't find much, but I suspect somewhere within that program's configuration, it has it's own mail client setting. Worst case scenario would be use use the Search function in the Windows Registry Editor to see if you can find it (but, if you do this, be careful & backup the registry before making any changes).
