Hi Folks,

I am in Dire need of Help... I am so frustrated from reading and trying everything I can to fix my problem. The issue is, when I open up Outlook Express and I compose a new email, then attach a MS Word document it gives me this error message below.:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'Testing 3 with word', Account: 'username_verizon_mail', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 out002.verizon.net Lost connection to [my.ip.add.ress]', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

But I can email just a plain jane email. just not a Word document. Has anyone experienced this issue. I do not have a router on this box either, my Outlooked worked a week ago, and then something happened, but I am not sure what. I have not made any changes that I am aware of.

Thanks,
Ryan

Can you email other attachments?

Temporarily disable your virus scanner & firewall before creating the message - does it work then?

smah,

I can send txt doc for sure... and I just added McAfee anti virus, to scan my Hard Drive for viruses. Mean this happened before I ever put a virus scaner on. I did just turn off the anti virus and try again, and no it did not send a microsoft document

Hi Imryn. - - This happened to me a while back and I found out that my ISP had changed their outgoing mail port from ? to ? - - The incoming port was still ok though.

Contact your ISP provider and ask them the correct port # for outgoing mail then alter your settings in the accounts section.
