Outlook express folder annoyance

Anyone with similar annoyance using the outlook express 5.....my sent messages no longer appear at the top of my "Sent Items" folder. Have tried re-sorting in numerous ways without success. The messages do appear in the folder but it's a hunt.
Would like some help with this little issue.

I'll answer this myself....would like to have blamed software but real problem was ...me...I had changed the date on my laptop to last year to work on another program...yada yada and forgot to change back to today's date.
