Hi,

I have Outlook Express 5 that I got when Outlook 5 was installed on my system as a result of me getting IE5.

I don't know how this happened, but now if I goto a non-existent url site, the browser automatically redirects me to another site. (That's my secondary problem.)

Since I can't fix that, I thought I'd upgrade from IE5 to IE6. My question is: What will happen to my Outlook Express mail? Will Outlook Express get deleted or overwritten on the upgrade? I don't want to delete my mail.

Thanks in advance.

Outlook 6 will act as an upgrade. You should loose nothing. As always, backup everything before doing any upgrading.
As for the redirecting, upgrading your browser may fix the problem. Most times a redirection is due to a problem on their side (being the web site you are trying to visit). If the web site is down, you will receive a page not found, if there is a problem with DNS, you will most likely be redirected.

Hope this helps, WMH

Thanks for your help WMH. I'll check it out. I've never really used OE. I've always had Microsoft Outlook, so I was unsure of how to backup OE files.

Thanks again for the help.
