Hi all,
My OE has been having 'issues' lately as some folders I cannot open as it says it could be "memory low" plus another option (can't recall the option now). I have looked on the web but can't find the exact problem I am having. Each time it seems to be a different folder that has the issue then it just fixes itself! I have a backup of dbx files and I have tried to restore the backup into the Store. At the moment I have no previous Sent mailbox. I have closed OE and compacted the folders while offline. It has created a Sent(1) folder. I have deleted that folder and deleted Folder.dbx in the hope that it would find the original dbx in the Store but no it just creates Sent (1) again. It is driving me insane! Last week it was the Inbox that was playing up. Then its fine again. Bizzare! All help appreciated.

Have you checked the overall size of your mailbox store? I seem to recall a relaively undocumented store size of 2Gb. Once over this 'limit' mailbox corruption can occur with similar symptoms to those you describe.

Just a thought.

No, it isn't the mailbox size as they are all relatively small. Any other ideas?

Have you tried removing and re-installing OE? Possibly a corrupt install of OE causing issues.

Not wanting to teach you to suck eggs but you can remove and re-install OE in the following way. (back up your oe files first)

Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - Add/remove Windows Components and un-check the Outlook Express option click 'next' etc etc. To re-install just reverse the procedure.
