I have a client whose computer crashed while in Outlook Express. She had several mailboxes created where she would store emails from various people, but now many of them are missing from Outlook, and of the messages left in her Inbox, everything before the date of the crash is unreadable by Outlook (gives the message to check system ram or disk space). We can see the message subject, etc., but cannot access the email bodies.
However, in the profile folder, I can see all the .dbx's of the folder's she had created, and they appear to be appropriately sized based upon how many emails she figured she had put in them.
I just tried a demo of NSoftware's Repair Tool for Outlook Express, but it shows all the .dbx's as empty, so basically any email message that we can't read in Outlook does not even appear in that program.
I've also tried OE Mail Recovery with the same results.
I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with alternative means of repairing/recovering the Outlook Express databases?
