what do i have to do in order to have the outlook express downloading the messages from a pop server and smtp server passing by an Isa Server?

Hi mejiaks,

You need to create a protocol rule that allows the SMTP and POP3 protocols to pass through the server.

Assume nothing, question everything, be explicit not implicit, and you'll always be covered.

how do i do that? i am sorry, I'm a newbee

Using the ISA Management console
Code:
1. Expand the Servers and Arrays
2. Expand the server to configure
3. Expand access policy
4. Expand protocol rules (optional)
5. Right-click protocol rules
6. Select New | Rule
7. Name the rule. I used "Allow internet mail"
8. On the Action tab, select Allow
9. On the Protocol tab select "Selected protocols" and add
    the following protocols
        POP3, POP3 Server, POP3S, POP3S Server, SMTP, SMTP
        Server, SMTPS, SMPTS Server
10. On the Schedule tab, select a schedule
11. On the Applies To tab select Any request
12. Select OK
This should do the trick for you.
