I have a Windows2000 server running Exchange5.5 with the current SP. This server is sitting behind a Netscreen-10 with a mapped IP that is publicly accessible.
Everything, except one item, is working fine.
- My Outlook clients on my network can access their e-mail, send and receive to/from the Internet.
- OWA is accessible and working from the Internet.
- Internet e-mail client can connect to and receive their e-mail using POP3.
However, when I try to connect to the server to send a message (SMTP), I get an 'unable to connect' message.
I have tried troubleshooting this and found that I can TELNET to the server (from the Internet) on port 110, but not on port 25. From within my LAN, I can TELNET to the mail server on both ports.
I cannot, for the life of me, determine what the problem might be. My Netscreen is configured to allow traffic on ALL ports to my mail server (for testing this out), but still no luck.
I just don't know if this is an Exchange issue, a Netscreen issue, or what.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.
Thank you!
