Outlook Express Address Book Forces Reboot

I am new to the forum. I could not find this issue in the history and appologize if this has been discussed.

I have OE 6 running on Windows 98. Any addition or change to the address book freezes the program. After the reboot the address book has the change and works ok.

Another issue is that bringing up reply or forward the first time after OE has been opened is very slow. After the 1st reply the reply screen for the next one snaps up. Is this unusual or simply how it works?
