Outlook Express 6 hyperlinks

I'm running Outlook Express 6 on Win2K, and when I receive a message with embedded hyperlinks, nothing happens when I click on them. I set Outlook Express as the default mail client in Internet properties (originally it was set to Netscape Mail), and still no luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
