Since I recently upgraded my Microsoft XP Home to SP2 I have not been able to send attachments such as pictures.

This applies to orginal messages and messages that I forward. People report back to me that all they see is a
area that displays a red X placeholder with no picture.

I receive pictures with no problem.

Everything did work before the application of XP Sp2

My computer is HP Pavilion s362n 512mb memory 160gb hd 80gb hd at 3.0ghz speed.

Software is:

Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 with SP2
Build 2600.xpsp_rtm.040803-2158

Outlook Express 6
6.00 2900.2180 xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158

Internet Explorer 6
6.0.2800.1106.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158

Microsoft Works 7.0

Please elaborate on your "check your firewall settings".

I have turned off the Windows XP Firewall.

I am using the included firewall from Bellsouth.net DSL which did not prevent the sending of attachements as it worked prior to the SP2 upgrade.

I did check that attachements should be sent option in OE6.

SOLUTION FOUND ! ! ! ! !

The reason the attchments (pictures, document, etc) were not being sent was due to my daughter adding a software add-on called "HOT BAR".

HOT BAR let you add very nice background pictures and generally spiced up your e-mail. It also added additional links and searches to your web browser - Internet Explorer.

After removing HOT BAR, (which was I had to find a program for) all went back to normal.

Steve what was the program you used to remove HOT BAR.
Thank Chris
