A users inbox has become corrupted some how in Outlook Express 5.0.6. What';s happening is that no emails appear in the email list when the user clicks on or opens the inbox. the user can still do a send and receive of her email and the Folders pain indicates that the new emails arrive. It gets bold and looks like this: Inbox (24). I thought perhaps the First Run could correct it, but it just added an email and reset the preferences. I tried moving just the Messages and Database files to a new identity, but I got the same results. I haven't been able to find any good support for this product, and none of the FAQs I have read describe anything like this. Understandably, the emails may never come back and other identities work fine. has anyone seen this or been able to correct it?

Hi Tuck007, Hold down "ALT" when starting the application and it will give you an option to compact the database. Say no to this and it will then give you an option to rebuild the database say yes to this and it should fix the problem.

Good suggestion, does this work for the Macintosh Outlook Express client? Or are you suggesting I use the Option button?
