Sorry for asking this minor question but I have lost patience with it. I am trying to change the sound that plays when I get mail but do not know where to change it, can anyone help?

Many thanks

go into Start->Settings->Control Pannel and then double click on the Sounds icon, in here you will see a list of Events, scroll down to New Mail Notification, and change to what ever you like!!!!! Jay~

Hi there,

I also have the same problem. Utilizing the Control panel does not work. I have tried deleting the default mail.wav and restarting the system, then replaced with another wav file and renamed it with the same name and it keeps reappearing as if it being generated by a help file system.

If you or anyone else has any suggestions on how to permanantly delete the default wave, please let me know. I've been at this on and off for hours. (Forget the control panel, as those are Windows media files and the wave notification file that won't go away (mailtruck1(1).wave is not in that directory.)

Thanks for reading

Thanks
